The story of an idea, now a structured production capability
Timpest was founded in 1970 out of an idea by Mario Mazzoni: to challenge the habit of discarding worn furniture and choose wood conservation instead. That early passion for humble, antique furniture grew into a company built on research and regulatory compliance as constants.
Today, Mazzoni Mario Eredi S.r.l. is a structured Italian manufacturer, based and operating out of Mossa (Gorizia), offering distributors and industrial partners:
- experience in formulating wood preservatives since 1970;
- a product range authorised under the EU Biocidal Products Regulation;
- a regulated presence across most European markets;
- in-house quality control on every batch produced.

The facility
Production capacity and an authorised manufacturing site
What began as a small artisanal workshop is now a large, organised facility dedicated to the production of wood insecticides and preservatives. The Mossa site is organised into three functional areas:
- production department, where the formulations take shape;
- an in-house analysis laboratory for quality control;
- offices and warehouses, for management and logistics.
The facility is a manufacturing site authorised by the Italian Ministry of Health for the production of presidi medico-chirurgici (PMC) — the Italian national authorisation regime for biocidal products such as disinfectants and insecticides. Alongside the Timpest-branded line, this capability enables custom production for other operators: contract manufacturing and private-label products.
The laboratory

Product safety and consistency start in our in-house laboratory. Every batch destined for packaging, in every size, undergoes chemical analysis to verify and confirm compliance with statutory parameters.
For a distributor or contract-manufacturing partner, this means one concrete thing: consistent, compliant supply, batch after batch. Dedicated studies and qualitative-quantitative analysis are part of our daily work.
